Silver Oak Cabernet, Napa Edition, has always been one of my all time favorite Cabs on the Planet. Even people that "don't like red wine" will drink this wine. It's that good! Silver Oaks Alexander Valley Cabernets are nice, but are not in the same league as the Napa releases...
The Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a complex and concentrated wine that balances intensity and finesse. The wine has a dark garnet color with a deep purple edge, and displays aromas of blackberry jam, dark chocolate, rose petal, black pepper and cedar. In the mouth, the attack is quite rich, expressing notes of brown sugar and nutmeg, and the flavors proceed seamlessly to a long finish of fruit and ripe tannins.

Awesome Merlot and Cabs is what these guys are noted for... Easy to make big Cabernets in Napa, but balance is a whole other ball game. Balance is key and Duckhorn has that mastered..
As a matter of fact I never drink Sauvignon Blanc ever, but the Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc is the bomb. I highly recommend it especially on a warm Summer's day. Crisp and refreshing..

Actually, Opus One is not labeled as a Cabernet Sauvignon, because the producers want the option to use different blends of the five Bordeaux red varieties planted in its vineyards -- Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot in addition to Cabernet Sauvignon. In reality, each vintage produced since its first, in 1979, has been at least 80 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, and up to 97 percent in two vintages. And so Opus One is truly a Cabernet Sauvignon, even if not labeled as such.
Opus One was the brainchild of two legendary wine greats, the late Baron Philippe de Rothschild, owner of the great first-growth Bordeaux, Château Mouton Rothschild, and Napa Valley's most famous vintner, Robert Mondavi.

This red blend, Joseph Phelps Insignia, is silky smooth, yet full and robust. It rocks though a bit pricy. I however feel that every sip is worth it. The vineyard in Napa is incredible as well so if you are in Napa it's worth dropping in. Vineyard is by appointment only so call
